It’s Music!!

How do you respond when you hear a familiar melody? Imagine you’re sitting in the corner of your favorite café when someone sitting beside you plays a song you used to love as a child. Would you stop sipping on your coffee for a minute to give yourself a moment with that music you so loved. Perhaps, you would or maybe not!

Music has a phenomenal impact on the listener’s subconscious mind. Almost all activity requires some sort of effort to be enjoyed. You have to take the time to read a line in that book you used to read when you were nine to reminisce about it. And, if someone decides to tell a story aloud, you would have to care to give it a listen if you want to hear it. Music, on the other hand, can work on a person without his/her knowledge or care. For example, in the situation we talked about in the beginning of this blog, your mind might hear and respond to that familiar tune even as you sip on your coffee, totally unaware of the fact.

Now, think how big that can be!! That is why some major brands just love to include a short piece of music along with their logo presentations and introductions. They want to be loved and remembered. They want to be part of your life. And, it is undeniably huge and an extremely productive concept. You would understand what I’m talking about if you could perhaps, take a moment to imagine how the Disney castle would seem to you without that famous intro music and how much more melancholy Titanic would have been if it lacked a soundtrack.

What was your favorite song as a child? What happens to you when you listen to your favorite music? Can you describe it?
